
Onboarding at CMG: Support That Starts on Day One
At CMG, onboarding isn’t just a checklist – it’s a strategic launch plan designed to get new Loan Officers up and running quickly, confidently, and with the right support at every step. Our 90-day onboarding program is structured for success, with most of the foundational work completed in the first 30 days.
The 30-60-90 Day Plan
While you have a full 90-day runway, we recommend front-loading your onboarding tasks, especially in the first week. That includes logins, password setups, compliance training, and system access. Rip the band-aid off, get the basics done, and free yourself up to focus on learning and loan production.
The Ambassador Program (a.k.a. The Buddy System)
What makes our onboarding truly unique is our Ambassador Program. Every new hire is paired with an experienced, licensed production support person – typically a Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) familiar with your branch and workflow. This individual becomes your go-to contact for all onboarding questions.
The support process follows a simple three-step format:
- Step One: Your ambassador handles the loans while you watch, learn, and record the process.
- Step Two: You take the lead while your ambassador observes and supports as needed.
- Step Three: You fully drive the process, and your ambassador reviews your work before anything is finalized.
There’s no fixed timeline; just as many loans as it takes to get you confident and in control.
What’s Inside the Onboarding Binder
Each new hire receives an onboarding binder (digital or print) with:
- Company overview and org chart
- Full contact roster and quick-reference phone book
- Bios of your immediate team and leadership
- Event calendars and meeting schedules
- Training expectations and support resources
- A roadmap for business planning and goal setting
You’ll also receive clearly defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) so you know exactly what’s expected from the team supporting you.
Retail Elevation Department (RED Team)
One of CMG’s most powerful onboarding resources is the RED Team: the Retail Elevation Department. This internal support team is available via email to answer any question you have or direct you to the person who can. Whether you’re unsure about systems, marketing, compliance, or processes, the RED Team is here to help.
Business Planning and Support
Onboarding also includes the start of your business planning journey. You’ll work with your leadership team to align your goals and build a personalized roadmap for production, marketing, and team development.
